Mac has this functionality although it works slightly different than Windows.  If you add the keystroke effect on recording that has captured keystrokes (TREC from mac or windows), you will get keystrokes added.  You can change the style and size in the properties panel and adjust the position on the canvas.  Being that is an effect on the media, you can cut the media up and move it around and the keystrokes stay in sync with the recording.

Note on newer versions of OS X (10.15, 1014.6 as well I think), you need to allow Camtasia access in the System Preferences->Security & Privacy-> Accessibility settings or Camtasia cannot record keystrokes.  Also of note, Camtasia is not a key logger for privacy reasons. Individual keystrokes are not captured (eg. a password) since they would be stored in the recording and could be found out at a later date. In general, you have to have Cmd, Ctrl or Option pressed as well or the keystroke is not captured.

You can still always manually add keystroke callouts if you want to show keystrokes where there were none captured in the recording using the keystroke callouts from the annotations bin.

Hi Leif, Thanks for your answer. "You can still always manually add keystroke callouts if you want to show keystrokes where there were none captured in the recording using the keystroke callouts from the annotations bin. "

This is the function that I use the most.
But it seems to be inpossible to created custom key combinations with Cntrl / alt or windows key on a Mac version of Camtasia.

Oh, I see what you are asking for.  You actually want Alt instead of Option (or the mac symbol, and Windows instead of the Cmd key.   And I imagine you want to change the style and/or size dynamically as well.  We don't offer a way to do that. (Windows doesn't have a way to use Mac Option or Cmd either).

I tried making Keystroke callouts on a Windows machine and adding them to the Library to export and bring over to MAC.  Unfortunately that didn't work as I hoped it might so I can't think of any way to do this currently.

You can always bring in images you made in another app, but that is all I can come up with at the moment.
