Just downloaded latest update, while editing my project three times the work area video went black.  The only way to get it working again was to save the project and reload.  Never happened prior to this update, working with GoPro 7 footage

I would also like to report this issue with the latest update. I was cutting some 4k film I shot last night and once I had about an hour's worth of video, the canvas stopped generating a preview. I have a pretty robust computer and this issue never occurred before.

Guess not a lot of testing went on with this update...  happened within my first 10 minutes of editing after the update.

Yeah, same here. I even shut down Photoshop, AE and my internet browser, but the problem still occurred. I rendered what I had already cut but that also seemed to take extra long.

Rendering does seem slower as well.

I am also getting very strange behavior with the update - every 2 minutes it goes busy and unresponsive for several seconds, and while playing back footage it sometimes doesn't respond for 30 seconds while the playback continues - I'm unable to do a thing.
In addition, saving the file also takes inordinately long for the short clip I'm presently working on.
(By the way, auto updates are less frequent than the new "time outs", and Windows Task Manager also reports that the program is unresponsive while it does its thing)
This situation is not acceptable. I'm sure the development team is working hard, but they really fell down on this one. Please work on a fix, FAST!!!!!

Yep and I used to do that as well but I guess got lazy and trusted the new releases would be solid.  I wont make that mistake again, or I 'll just stop updating.

I'm sorry Duf - you're absolutely correct. re Camtasia 2019 - 2018 - 9 - 8.
I used to do what Kayakman did, but got lazy like you.
If you do get through to someone in Tech Support who can help, please post a link to the previous "update" in the forum so we can use it.
Thanks

The latest build is 1907 (19 being a reference to the year 2019) Change the last number from a 7 to a 6 for the previous build. Change it to a 5,4,3,2 or a 1 for even more previous builds...this is the pattern. Make a note of it for future! Enjoy.

Didn't realize this little editor was so terrible at formatting...what a mess! Sorry. Ignore the HTML parts and just concentrate on the URLs themselves. In the above URLs, basically change the 1901 part of the URL to 1907, 1906, 1905, 1904, 1903, 1902 or leave it at 1901 for that version. There is an MSI installer, ZIP package or .EXE executable. They are all the same release.

Oh and one more thing, the installer downloads are all about 485 MB in size so not exactly "small".
