Version 9.x is Windows, version 3.x is Mac.

Mac 3.1.5 is the last update that was released earlier this month.

The Windows equivalent is 9.1.2.

This means that you're already on the equivalent version of the software. You would not be upgrading from the Mac version to the Windows version if you plan to stay on the Mac.

(OK, I'd consider it an upgrade because I loathe Apple, but that's a different discussion.)

As for why you got the e-mail; the only reason I can think of is that perhaps you once had and registered an older Windows version.

Get your Money Back!

As a owner of Camtasia 3.15 you already own Camtasia 9 because it's a cross platform software now.

A Camtasia license entitles you to install Camtasia on 2 computers. One could be a MAC and the other a Windows.
So you payed for nothing really.Unless you wanted to install Camtasia on 3 or 4 computers.

I would contact sales and Get My Money Back Right Away.

Please do contact us; we'd be happy to help you out.
We apologize for the confusion in the promotional video as well. While we are continually striving to bring the best features of both platform's products together, we aren't there yet, and those differences cause confusion such as this.

I receive update to update to version 9 even though I've never owned the PC Version.
