When a video in scorm with TOC, CC, quizzes, hotspots is published in an LMS, does it work correctly? How do you do with the Smart Player in the LMS?

Thanks!

Hello Gabriel,

When you export a SCROM package from Camtasia using the Smart Player you can upload the zip file to your LMS.  The Smart Player will work with all the features you listed.  Let me know if you run into any issues or have further questions.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi

I've produced a SCORM package in Camtasia 8 which has quizzes in it. It has been uploaded to our LMS and works beautifully on Windows Desktop machines but on mobile devices and Apple devices, the control bar doesn't work. You cannot scroll forward or backwards. Are Camtasia SCORM packages not compatible with mobile/Apple devices? Appreciate any help on this. Thank you.

Helo Sue,

The TechSmith Smart Player is our video player that Camtasia uses with our SCORM output.  The version of the TechSmith Smart Player that ships with Camtasia 8 is very out of date.  We've done a lot of work over the years to improve mobile device support.  Camtasia 2019 not only includes the latest version of the TechSmith Smart Player, but we've improved our SCORM integration as well.

We do have instructions on how to manually update TechSmith Smart Player for  Camtasia 8 productions.  But it is more complicated for SCORM productions because of some additional settings that have to be added for the Smart Player to work correctly.

I am using Camtasia 2020 and I am having the same issue.  It will not fast forward or rewind on an Android phone.

Are you able to rewind and fast forward on other desktop browsers with the same video?

Yes.  I figured out the problem yesterday though.  I had Camtasia Studio 8 on the same machine and it was defaulting to that version.  When I uninstalled the older version the video processed in Camtasia 2020.

Thank you for your prompt response.  I will try to manually update the smart player to see if this has any affect in the first instance.

I'm not very 'techie' so is there a video on how to manually update please?  Thank you

I tried to update the local files as per the link you forwarded (Option 1) but it's saying I don't have permission to update them.  How do I get around this please?

Also, did you say there were manual instructions for Camtasia 8 SCORM productions?  If so, where do I find these please?

Thank you

Hi Sue,

The process of updating a Camtasia SCORM production is a lot more complicated.  Try going through these steps.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben

Thank you for the steps to update Camtasia SCORM productions.

Much to my surprise I actually managed to successfully update a SCORM production so thank you very much.  However, only on Apple devices, when I get to a quiz, submit the answers and click on View Answers, the vertical scroll bar on the right hand side is not available, so I cannot see right and wrong answers if they don't fit the window.  How do I resolve this please?

Happy to send you my SCORM zipped file if if helps.

Really appreciative of your help.  Thank you.
