Logitech C920 issue with Camtasia 9 and ALSO 2018 !

When I record screen and webcam (Logitech c920), the webcam video shows many quick freezes. See this video I did yesterday, just for testing. Notice the freezing of the image when I blink at 2 seconds. This only happens when I record the video using Camtasia (2018). The same happened with Camtasia 9! I see this problem in many Youtube videos. People are experimenting the same issue. It seems that Logitech C920 and Camtasia can't work together. If I record the video using only the webcam, the problem does not happen. What is going on? I'm about to buy the new Logitech Brio model (that is expensive), but I worry if the same issue will happen. There is also another problem: video and sound does not sync many times.

I'll start by saying I have a strong CPU and GPU. This has worked for me.
The Logitech C920 has Free downloadable software for recording with the webcam.https://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/hd-pro-webcam-c920/downloads#

When you go into advanced settings you can unlock and adjust the White Balance.Which I highly recommend. The auto setting is only correct if the room is lit by natural outside light. At least, that's my experience.

You would need to start the both of the recorders separately. Clap your hands or make some easy to pick up sound on both recorders. Then sync the recordings manually in the Camtasia editor.

It's not as convenient as doing it all through Camtasia's recorder. Especially if you intend on pausing and restarting the recording.
However, Camtasia tends to lose audio sync when you pause recordings. It's best to record straight through.Avoid pause altogether.

The few times I've done this, the Logitech recordings came out great. No freezing up, no audio issues. I've recorded at 720p when I've done this. Which ended up being kind of pointless. I never enlarged the size of the webcam footage in the corner of the screen. And I cropped down from widescreen mode.Because a widescreen webcam in to corner didn't look right to me.
Recording at 480p probably makes more sense in most cases.
Plus, its easier on system resources to record at smaller dimensions.

I recorded a 6 minutes test video,  using Logitech Brio, just reading a text. For two times, the same problem happened! Two fast freezings, 0,5 to 1 second duration.
I'm using a strong computer, with a ssd harddisk, a core i7 processor, 16 gb ram, and a wonderful Nvidia video graphic 1060, with dedicated 6 gb ram. And a fresh Windows 10.

This kind of problem only happen when I record the videos using Camtasia Recorder. If I record the videos with another video editor, like Filmora, everything goes very well.

I have seen this problem in some videos on Youtube! People are experimenting the same issue! Maybe I need to make some different configuration.

After testing countless times, it is absolutely clear that there is a mismatch between Camtasia and Logitech webcams, like the C920 and the latest Brio model! I have tested on different computers, both with the latest hardware, and the exact same problem happens! When recording webcam and screen at the same time, the webcam video has numerous small freezes in the image, from about 0.5 to 1 second each. On both computers I use Windows 10, which is configured for maximum performance.

This problem only happens when the webcam is recorded together with the screen in Camtasia. If I make the same recording using other editors like Filmora, OBS and Corel VideoStudio, freezes do not happen. It is clear that there is some kind of conflict when using together Camtasia and the webcams of Logitech.

The solution is to do the recordings with another editor! Which is absolutely unfortunate! It is extremely urgent that the Techsmith team pay special attention to this problem. I have observed these freezes in many videos on Youtube. See for example this video, which is full of freezes from start to finish. The first freezing happens at 31 seconds, and there are many others after it. https://youtu.be/LRPA8fbCQds?t=31

Logitech cameras, especially the recent BRIO model, are the best on the market. And they are used by large numbers of people. I suggest that the Techsmith team strive to solve this problem!
