Logmein Rescue AVI's & Camtasia

I know this is posted as a "Question" type but it's actually more of an "Answer".

Our support & Implementation team uses Logmein Rescue for remote access to assist our customers.  Recently they made some AVI recordings using Logmein that we wanted to use in Camtasia for some productions.  Camtasia said, no way, cannot import those.

I attempted downloading a new CODEC from Logmein's download page, using Adobe Media Encoder to convert them and TechSmith support was even nice enough to take a file and try out a few other things.  All with no success.

My next step was to call Logmein to see if they could offer a suggestion.  They did way better then that.  They pointed me to their own conversion tool (Rescue AVI Converter).  I loaded up all the files, pressed the next button, selected the AVI type of MRLE and it spun out about a dozen new AVI files that Camtasia happily accepted.

Hope this helps!
