Loop Short Background Video in Long Slidshow

I have an hour and twenty minute slideshow with almost 1000 images music etc. I want to have an animated background that's I've selected but it's only 10 seconds long. Instead of stacking that 10 second long video back to back is there a way to add that video to a track and tell it to loop until the end of another track?

Hi there

Unfortunately not. But what you might consider is stacking several on the timeline back to back, then selecting them and grouping them. Then add the group to the library. This would allow you to add longer segments at any given time.

Perhaps others have better ideas.

Cheers... Rick :)

Thanks Rick that's exactly what I did, just making sure I wasn't going around my rear end to get to my elbow. Groups apparently can't be on the same track so I'll have to generate a few different tracks after creating the group.

Groups can't be on the same track? Why not? I seem to be able to put them on the same track. As long as they have space.

After I grouped the videos (10-15 in a group) copied and pasted it wouldn't let me drag that new group I pasted to the same track of the original group.

you should be able drag the pasted group to same track; I do it all the time; maybe post a short screencast showing what is happening; host on screencast.com

Creating the group and adding it to the library and stacking them back to back from the library worked however, creating the group ctrl+c, ctrl+v would not allow me to drag the new group I just pasted to the same track. Thanks for the tip on adding it to the library that will work.

Rick's suggestion is the way to go

Perhaps build out 10 minutes worth of background as a project, select everything, right click, add to Library [pick an appropriate name]; putting them in Library will automatically create the group; then, use the group from Library once; copy it, the past back in as often as needed until you span the entire project

if you'll be using this same asset a lot, produce it as an MP4 clip, and use that as your asset; it will simplify things in large, complex projects
