So I have been working on something on Camtasia Studio 8, Iv'e got about 3-4 worth of work going and had save multiple times, and it crashes so i thought that's not a big deal because it can give the option when you go back into Camtasia to recover previous project or even if that didn't show up at least id have my previous saves right? well the option came up to recover the project after the crash and it gets your to save it again so i just put the save location of the recover project where the original save of the project was. And then it just showed me a blank, new Camtasia project, nothing was there at all, i close it and open the new "recovered" project and it's empty, nothing in the clip bin or anything, i checked the auto save files but nothing was in them, after restarting my computer still nothing. Please help? what am i supposed to do?!?!?!
Was the problem overwriting the original project save with the recovered save?

Was just going to add the same thing. Stop where everything is right now to increase the chances of recovery.

when you did the manual "saves", what folder were you saving into?

have you looked into that folder for your manually saved project file?

for future reference, a best practice, when doing a succession of manually saves, is to append a sequence number to the end of the project file [do save-as actions]; that way, the auto-recover will not write over all those older copies

you might check the Camtasia temp storage folder at C:\Users\User~1\AppData\Local\Temp\

but otherwise, perhaps cut your losses and do it all over?
