lost .mp4 files

I opened Camtasia 3, imported .mp4 video file. I spliced a video in three. I created new project for all three pieces of video. I cut and then pasted into Camtasia, each one I created a .mp4 file and named them. They were all in one folder. I uploaded one for my students in Google Drive so I do know the .mp4's existed! I also double checked by playing them back, I remember my quick time being painfully slow at first. Files are all gone! Where are they as I seek the very next day for them! Two weeks of work gone! Is there a secret spot Camtasia files can be hidden. I see a Temporary Folder on my mac when I go to save something but I can't access it through the finder. It's quite a mess.

I'm not quite sure I understand which files went missing- was it the resulting, produced, final videos that came out of Camtasia that you lost? One for each project?
