Lots of lag while moving editing as well as during playback.

I've been doing a lot of editing of a single project and saving periodically.  For some reason, everything is moving so slow.  I'm referring to dragging an image across the canvas as well as playback.  I closed Camtasia twice and rebooted my machine and there's no improvement.  Otherwise, my computer is behaving fine.

That's typical, it's the same for me with my i7 8700k, 32gb RAM, while editing off an SSD. As the project gets more complex, Camtasia becomes more laggy. As much as I like it's ease of use, this is it's biggest problem for me, it's poor optimisation handling multiple video clips and effects.

Check if there are any Windows updates waiting for you.

Also SSDs don't have built in cache, instead Windows caches for them using normal RAM, and unlike HDDs caching, Windows "forgets" and unless you force a flush, normal activity may make you wait (for something else to tickle windows into a flush). Download  Sync.exe, put it on a flash or SD drive. It must be run from a drive you are not flushing, second change its [properties], [compatibility], check "Run as Administor" box.

D/L sync here:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/sync

Create a bat file to execute it on all your internal drives and put it also on your flash or SD drive:

"sync c
sync d
pause
exit"

Create a shortcut on your desktop to run the bat file. When things slow down, run the bat file.
If the drives don't need to flush, the file will take a msec or 2, else  you see, it needed the flush you just gave them.

Also note that turning off "Windows Caching" for SSDs can cause even longer waits.

Dear use Photoshop because Professional photoshop actions are great if you are a photographer and want to save hours while creating beautiful effects in your photographs. They are a comprehensive set of actions that make your photos look amazing for HDR effects, matte effects, retouching, color correction, etc. You can record these steps in ATN file to replay them on any image.

Burnt Toast,  Are you (aka) Collin? Your's is a very unsatisfying answer. Tech Smith doesn't give a darn, they continue to allow everything. It ain't gonna stop until we stop asking someone else to fix it.  So, if you don't know Collin's email address, why stop my mojo?

Nope, not related. Just a Camtasia user like you. I also was trying to help you out with your spam replies but you seem kind of angry and your reply, ignorant. With 395 posts on here I'd expect a little more maturity out of you. You might wish to try a different tact when someone tries to help you out in future. Don't bother replying I won't be following it.
