Similar to Shift-S for Silence Audio, how about something to reduce audio by 50%?

By the way, I currently use "Silence Audio" and then bring the volume of the selection back up a little, but it would be nice to set a pre-defined value and then apply to selections. I'm using this for breating sounds. I don't want to lose them entirely, but I would like to de-emphasize them. I'm not sure if this is the same thing as Audio Ducking that people are talking about.

Hi and thanks for submitting your idea/feature request!

As outlined in our New Community Processes post, feature requests are open to voting up through the 1st of the month, where we will then tally the votes and present the findings to our product teams. To ensure we have the most accurate data, on the 1st of the month we will be locking the threads that were listed in the Feature Request Round-up that was posted on the 15th. Once we have reviewed the submitted feature requests, our product team(s) may respond to the request, and if that is the case then that thread will then be unlocked for further discussion.

In the event that your idea is not selected for a response feel free to resubmit the idea and share it with your colleagues to garner as much exposure as possible!

Thank you again for your idea and we look forward to hearing more from you!

Hi adrayer,

We are planning on making a lot of improvements to the efficiency and quality of editing audio in Camtasia, so thank you for the feedback! The described workflow isn't the same as audio ducking (which is lowering the volume of one track to make room for another, such as lowering the volume of a music track whenever there is a voice) but your workflow is definitely useful for increasing the polish of your audio without making it sound extremely edited. We'll keep your workflow in mind as we work on audio editing in Camtasia!
