Have MACOS 10.12.3 and the current SnagIt for MAC. Ever since installing my battery life is terrible, dropping to about 1/3 of what it was. I un-installed and re-installed with no help. Have gone back to the previous version and all is good. Wondered if others are ahving the same issue or if there is a fix.  Thank you

I want to comment to the OP but it looks like you have to tack on the comment of the last person to Comment.

Are you using one of the new 16 GB MacBook Pro's that come out first of the year. If so It's not  SnagIt. It's actually the  Mac itself.

I just purchased one and and although apple says it will last 10-12 hours. It ain't going to happen. Even with conservation measures to extend battery Charge you lucky if you can get  4 or 5 hours. I think the Battery is a little under-powered. Am I going to return it. Heck no! The difference in speed of the machine, and quality of the images it shows, makes up for the battery.  But Mac's have never been known for the greatest battery life.  You don't buy one for Battery life.  Apple along with other computer companies have bought in this stupid idea computers are supposed to be so thin you fold it up like a sheet of paper. If your going to have a usable computer it's got to beefy enough,  to have decent battery operation.  The new one I just bought is on borderline being too thin.

So I am constantly seeing: Using significant energy: SnagitHelper. I have just upgraded to a MacBook Pro (10.12.3) but just I 'think' I saw the same on my previous MacAir.

I am also seeing this on my MBP.  It definitely correlates to the recent upgrade and it just wastes my battery to no end.

I have 4.1.5 and it is the same...  poor macbook (2017 13" BTO 16GB) had the fans at full speed and HOOTTT.   battery drained in no time.  Quit snagit, and no problem.
