This facility is great on the PC but seems to be missing on the Mac version?

Hey Peter,

You are correct, unfortunately, we do not offer that feature on Snagit for Mac yet. But we appreciate the feedback, and I'll make sure to pass your request along!

What is the status of this feature now?
  1. Mac users will never have this useful feature
  2. In one of the next updates we will release this very useful feature

This feature has been in the Windows product since 1996, and I used it all the time - it's a huge time and headache saver. I'm curious why it hadn't made it to the Mac version after so many years. Does Techsmith not think Snagit Mac users really want this feature? Is it that difficult to implement??

I would really love to see this feature for the Mac soon as well. I so much miss it. I guess everyone here loves your products, but that is truly one important feature that is missing right now. Is it on a feature road map already? Thank you and keep on making awesome software!

I'd go so far as to say it's a slap in the face to Mac users that this basic feature hasn't been implemented yet. I'm not a coder, but seriously, how hard can it be to have SnagIt sit there resident and take repeated screenshots at timed intervals?  It's an extremely useful feature.  Get on the stick and implement it already!

totally agree, it's also kind of frustrating that there is no response from Techsmith. If they would explain that it is not possible to implement this on a Mac, or that it is scheduled for 2017, then it would make things a little easier to understand, now it kind of feels like Techsmith doesn't care at all.

You're right, as of now it just seems that TechSmith can't be arsed to offer this basic feature foe Macs, and that inaction speaks volumes to their attitude towards Mac users.

At any rate, if people are looking for a simple program to take timed screenshots, just google Click for Mac.  It's a tiny little program that does just that.  There's not a lot of options, as in you can't choose the format, although the program takes its snaps as PNG files so I guess that's the best  result if you can't pick.  No frills, it's free, it works great and I highly recommend it.

I actually made a post asking Techsmith to respond to this issue. Least they can do. In the meantime we can keep BUMPing these posts to keep the issue relevant.

I tried. This function is not exist even in the latest version (13). This must be a very difficult and challenging function to be implemented.

I don't think I will spend my money for the version 13.

Hi Huang - Snagit 13 (Windows) still has this functionality; we have not yet added it to Snagit 4 (Mac).

On Windows, the keystroke is Ctrl-Shft-R (can be changed in the capture window > File > Capture preferences > Hotkeys tab). Just wanted to make sure that if you're on Windows you see it there.
