Mac version of SnatIt vs. PC-Windows version features

I am a long-time SnagIt user who loves the PC product. After switching from PC-Windows to a Mac last year, I bought the Mac version of SnagIt.

Unfortunately, the Mac version does not have all of the PC-Window version's features. Do you have a roadmap to add new features to the Mac version to bring it closer to the PC-Windows product?

Please say yes and tell your Mac users what's cooking.

Thank you for the feedback. We are continuing to work on the Mac version of Snagit. We don't want to simply port the features over, we want to make sure we take advantage of all the Mac operating system features and continually improve Snagit. It takes some time to catch up to 20 years of development, and I apologize for that wait.

Is there anything specific you would like to request as a priority for the team? Customer feedback definitely influences what we do next.

Thanks again!

Hi- I agree with your philosophy and enjoy Snagit, as an instructor, it is an essential tool for me. I really enjoy the batch file file type changer in the Windows version. Love to see it in the mac version. Applescript?

I am in the same boat as Wayne. I can be specific: two features that I loved and used more than any other in SnagIt for PC were 1) Batch Processing and 2) Watermarking. Now I can't do either, and prepping pics for online in environments where they are likely to be shared, such as social media, is a chore.

I used to set the size, drop on my company logo as a watermark, rename all the files to their product number, et cet -- all in one shot. Now all that convenience is gone. I would love to see these two features developed in the Mac version.

Thanks for the opportunity to chime in!

As these posts were all 3 years ago, I don't know if anyone is watching but just in case...

A big part of making my living is the use of Snagit. At the office I use Snagit Windows but I wanted to work from home more so being a Mac user, I bought Snagit Mac. A simple idea has turned into hand-to-hand combat with the Mac version of the application. I waste so much time tinkering with and working around it's limitations. As it causes me to be less productive I actually choose the two hour commute to work at the office whenever something time sensitive needs to get done. Ugh!

While I can appreciate the high fidelity of TechSmith's 3-year old intentions to leverage all the Mac functionality, I am less interested in Snagit being "Mac-ish" and more interested that it delivers the promise. It promised to be the same application we've grown to love in the windows version and even better because of the Mac-ish features. Well, it isn't either one. It doesn't have the look, layout or features of the Windows product nor is it Mac-ish because it doesn't "just work" either.  Ok I'll stop venting...

Here is my specific wish list: Toolbar, in app tags with in-app folders by tag or date (as in Windows) so I can quickly go back to and reuse, when I set input to copy to clipboard the image should actually go to the clipboard without me having to copy again from the editor and I need to be able to upload the same stamp collections as I use in the windows version. The mac stamps are nice but to work in both places I need to have the option to have the same stuff in both applications. I'm willing to learn a new layout as long as it's better and has what I need.
