Which version of Camtasia 2018 are you running?  We just released version 2018.0.5 which addresses all the Mojave issues we were aware of.  What exactly are the problems you are seeing?

Camtasia is NOT updating beyond 2018.0.8.... and downloading a fresh version still results in 2018.0.8. which is crashing on Mojave consistently. Why are you allowing the 2018.0.8 to be downloaded as a trial or for purchase? Why is the application not upgrading to 2018.2.3 which supposed to solve the problem? Getting work done today is shot because of this!

2018.0.8 is the latest version of Camtasia on the Mac platform.  There is no 2018.2.3.

Hi,  Thanks for quick response.  I'm running 2018.0.5 (105553) trial version.  Testing if Camtasia is the tool we will use as the standard in the company.

I have not been able to find your crash report in your system.  What name did you enter in the crash report?  It does not have to be your real name, and you do not have to use your real email address either.

I also recommend you contact our official technical support.   https://support.techsmith.com

I'm using Version 2018.0.6. I upgraded to Mojave, and yes- it's unstable and crashes a lot. Especially after a 30 minute full screen capture (system audio / mic captured also). Thank god for those .trac files in the Movie directory, otherwise I would be losing a lot of work that can't be re-done.

Techsmith- please tell me your fine programmers are busy with fixing the stability issues. I can't take this much longer.

This is happening to me too.  I installed Mojave today and upgraded Camtasia to the latest version.  It is unusable.  I can make one screen recording but then it just crashes when I add a second.

Which version of Mojave are you running?  We were seeing several issues with 10.14, but those issues do not appear in 10.14.1.

Camtasia is running very slow  after upgrading to Mojave. As I move the playhead, there is a lag and then the screen abruptly changes to the location where the playhead ends up. There is no smooth transition happening so that I can see what happens during the change. I have uninstalled and re-installed Camtasia and am having the same issue.

Have you submitted any crash reports?   I am not seeing anything in our crash logs that matches your video, but some of the crash reports are not very specific.

The best way to get help with this is to contact our official technical support.   https://support.techsmith.com

I will describe the issue briefly.

Prior to upgrading to Mojave, I had no issues editing on Camtasia 3. Once I upgraded I started getting issues with the preview timeline during editing. Essentially I couldn’t scribble or move the playhead without the endless beach ball spinning I icon which shows that it is processing the instruction which can take up to 5 mins. Then it just jumps to the new playhead position.

Right clicking on the timeline produces the same effect. None of this happened on High Sierra. My iMac is a late 2017 model with 64GB of RAM and I used to be able to work with up to 5 projects opened simultaneously.

Now I can’t even work on one. I upgraded to Cam2018 thinking that this would fix things however the same issues persisted. There are no crashes, I simply cannot use the editing timeline effectively and it’s becoming a huge timesink. Working with the same project on FCP does not produce the same issues.

One thing to check is that Camtasia has permission to use your Microphone and Camera.   You can do this in System Preferences.

Camtasia 2018 should handle all the system prompts correctly, but we might have missed something.   Mojave will repeatedly ask for permission and perhaps that is what is causing the hangs you are seeing.

If that does not help, your best course of action is to open up a ticket with our technical support team at https://support.techsmith.com
