Maintenance Agreement Software Upgrade???

I am being asked to renew my Maintenance Agreement (which doesn't expire until July 2018) with the pitch that it will give me access to free major/minor upgrades.  However, when I try to download SnagIt 2018, it asks me to pay for the upgrade even though I have an existing maintenance agreement.  Clearly, there is no point in renewing my maintenance agreement if I have to pay for upgrades...

What am I missing?

Hi Robert;

With regard to the messaging about renewing your Maintenance Agreement; likely what you're seeing is a prompt to renew now that you are a month away from the end of the existing agreement. As to installing and activating Snagit 2018, you should have received a new software key when Snagit 2018 launched that you can use to activate the new version. If you did not receive that email, please contact our Customer Service team here.

OK, thanks.  I did not receive any such email announcing Snagit 2018 and providing me a new software key...

Just to tack onto this information...

If you have a TechSmith Account, and you were signed in when you purchased Snagit and Maintenance, we automatically send your new software key to your TechSmith Account. You should be able to see this at https://myaccount.techsmith.com/.

Again, if you were signed in when you purchased your Snagit and Maintenance, if you download the latest trial, and then login, the product should automatically populate with your maintenance key and just work to unlock the full version of the software.

I have a maintenance agreement that expires in Oct 2018 and when I install Camtasia 2018, it is looking for a license key. I tried using my existing license from Camtasia 9.x but it won't take it. I used the Lost your key option and I'm waiting for the email. Upgrade not as smooth as expected.

Jim,

If you didn't receive an email from TechSmith and your new key doesn't appear in https://myaccount.techsmith.com, contact our Customer Service group at https://support.techsmith.com/.
