Major Issues with Windows 10 Anniversary Update

I installed the latests Windows 10 Anniversary update on two of my computers, on both of them it seems like it has made it impossible to start either TVpaint 9.5 or 11. Tvpaint 9.5 briefly shows up, but immediately a message that says "Tvpain has stopped working" shows up. Tvpaint 11 just doesn't show anything and then a similar error shows up.

I've tried all combinations of compatibility modes + run as admin. Nothing seems to help. I've also tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I'm restoring one of the computers to pre-anniversary update, hopefully that will let me get back to work.

I hope there is some way to fix this soon!

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

Are you sure it was the Anniversary Update? - which is quite old.  Current version is 1709 and can be checked by running winver from the command prompt.  You can find a list of versions and released dates at:

It's not unusual either to find further Windows updates immediately after, or quite soon after, installing a major one.

I believe also that there is a later update of tvpaint 11 than the one you referred to.
