Major problems with Snagit

HELP!!!!! I'm beyond frustrated!  When I record a video the recording window shows everything is fine and then when I stop recording parts of the video are just gone. Disappeared. For example I can see when I'm about to stop recording that it has been recording for 12 minutes but then when it shows up in Snagit editor there are 4 minutes gone from that. The video just skips over the middle of the work. Then sometimes it grabs pieces of other recent videos I've made and puts them together. It's bizarre. I've never had this happen with Snagit! I've been using it since it first came out and now I'm having to remake videos over and over to get it to work properly. HELP!!!!!

First update to the latest version of Snagit. The latest version is 2020.1.2

I would make sure your graphic drivers are up to date.

Next if needed, do a Repair install of Snagit.

Lastly get with tech support.

Do you have any free space left on your C-Drive?
You don't need a lot, but you need enough to run all your computers temp files, I.E. capture a video at the same time.
You may have an a lot of unnecessary temp files taking up space that your unaware of.

Spot on, especially (potentially) files in C:\Windows\Temp. By default  if you right click on it and select properties, it will lie to you that it has 0 files, 0 folders, 0 bytes. To open it you have to give yourself permission (assuming that you're a local administrator) then, hey, surprise! 74 folders, 328 files, 1.17 gigabytes. This is on a machine that I rebuilt only last week. If you are ever out of space on your C:\ drive yet your C:\ drive lies that it still has space... that's the first place I recommend checking. I swear, Windows 10 is worse at cleaning up after itself than a 2 year old with a dodgy tummy.

The Snagit and video drivers update would definitely be the first thing to try. If you have the file, you could send it to me and we'll look at it.

Does the video timestamp show the full length but it skips over the middle? Or is it just 4 minutes shorter than anticipated?

It actually does both. It will sometimes just cut off videos and other times it will skip sections of them. And then a couple of times it merged on endings from completely different videos!!

It is the newest version of Snagit. That was the first thing I tried.
