Make detached canvas on top of other windows when editor gains focus

When the canvas is detached, it can be hidden behind other windows.

If the focus returns to the Camtasia editing window, I'd like to see the detached canvas come back on top of other windows (eg on top of the email I just opened) so that I can immediately see what is going on.  Obviously, the focus should remain on the editing window, but the detached canvas should be on top of all but the editing window)

I want to instantly see the changes, not realize that canvas is buried, and then look to bring it back on top, and have to recall what it looked like before the change I just made.

Just a little thing, but it would smooth the flow a bit.

If anything, I would prefer a choice. I like the way that the unattached canvas functions right now so, I'm not interested in seeing this change. But if some folks want something different, then I'd ask for a choice.

I hated the way Camtasia 8 would automatically bring the undocked canvas forward. Sometimes I had it on my second monitor and was using that monitor to search for media to load into the media bin. Having the canvas pop forward was a big inconvenience.

Sure, it's inconvenient to hit the play button and not see the video; then have to dig it out from behind emails and multiple browser windows. In my workflow, this is a small inconvenience.

Choice is good. My choice would be to stop losing the undocked canvas on monitor 2. If I bring focus to the timeline, I want the canvas on top too.

Hi and thanks for submitting your idea!

As outlined in our New Community Processes post, feature requests are open to voting up through the 1st of the month (this month is slightly different, due to the holidays) where we will then tally the votes and present the findings to our product teams. To ensure we have the most accurate data, on the 1st of the month we will be locking the threads that were listed in the Feature Request Round-up that was posted on the 15th. Once we have reviewed the submitted feature requests, our product team(s) may respond to the request, and if that is the case then that thread will then be unlocked for further discussion.

In the event that your idea is not selected for a response feel free to resubmit the idea and share it with your colleagues to garner as much exposure as possible!

Thank you again for your idea and we look forward to hearing more from you!

-Robert
