Make the Copy All button respond in some way when you click it

99% of the use I have from Snagit is copy-pasting screenshots. When I click the Copy All button it doesn't look as if it has been clicked.

This is a feature that has been asked for by others over the years.

It makes sense to me. Apparently, the powers that be disagree.

You never know, maybe it'll happen this time. Don't ask, don't get!

I don't disagree alex.turner,
thats why I voted for the idea.
I suspect my comment came off negative.
The feature is such a small ask.

TechSmith tends to pour their heart and souls into new features. Features I've never seen adopted or used in this forum for more than a nanosecond.

Maybe the best new release in years would be one that would focus on the "Simple Creature Comforts"
like "Copy All Recognition" and usability in general.
Put away the new bells and whistles for a while

Put UX design at the top of the list. Thats what ANY customer want's more than anything else. Usability.

Hi Alex - never hurts to ask again.  :) This did come up again recently among our development team and one idea was to simply change the button text from Copy All to Copied and then back. Would that be enough to give you a visual cue that it worked?

Also, if you haven't found it yet...you can toggle on "Copy to Clipboard" right in the Capture Window which puts every capture onto your clipboard without having to click Copy All...at all. Of course, this is only useful when you do no editing on that capture before sharing. But I do that plenty so I keep the setting toggled on at all times.

Having it change to Copied is fine, so long as there is a clue that it has in fact copied. That's all I'm after :)

@Daniel - Perhaps along with the text change, we might see a brief background color change to make it more obvious?

The colour change would be in line with every other application I work with.

Wow.  I'm amazed to read (in other threads) that confirmation of "Copy All" has been a requested item for at least four years!

We should be clear here and separate the issue of confirming "Copy All" was clicked from whether the copy to the clipboard was successful or not.  Two different things.

Therefore, I agree that some kind of change in the "Copy All" button display is needed to confirm the click.  I recommend changing the button background color briefly (gray?) for about a quarter of a second or so.

Changing from "Copy All" to "Copied" and back is not a good choice for click confirmation since it implies that the copy actually happened when it might not have.  If, in fact, it can be confirmed that the copy happened, this would be a good option in addition to the background color change.

Let's focus on confirming that "Copy All" was clicked.  Properly done, this should be simple to implement, non-intrusive to the user, and not interfere with confirming the copy to the clipboard was successful if that's implemented in the future.

This is one of those feature requests that has garnered attention over the years. It hasn't received a lot of actual votes.
But this is a common sense feature requiring little thought to appreicate.Who needs votes to figure this one out?

No need for votes...just hasn't made it to the top of the priority list. Which isn't saying it's unimportant just that as we assign priorities to the huge backlog of good ideas, we've prioritized other good ideas above this one.

I tend to be blunt and to the point.I don't mean to be disrespectful, I come off that way at times. Its the nature of the beast.
So, consider this my disclaimer {:>)

I intended on dropping smoking in my 30's.
Then quit in my 50's.
Harboring thoughts of good intentions for a couple of decades, means very little.
I quit for short periods of time.

I'm not suggesting this feature request will lambast for 20 years.
That response doesn't rule any scenarios out. Or disperse any confusion moving foward.  It simply confirms the feature is on a back-burner until it isn't.
