Make titles in media bin visible in full length

After moving a cmproj file, or its media, we have to reconnect the media. But the titles of the media only show partially. Some of my media have identical characters in the beginning of their titles to help group them, but these are the only segments of the titles that show when the connect window opens (the one that lists the media to choose from.)

Can you make it possible for the full title of each media asset to show in at least one of the layouts in the media bin? Or at least make that media asset's title show somewhere to help us choose the exact file to connect it to.

I can see how that would be helpful. For the moment, if you hover your mouse over the truncated title, a tooltip will come up with the full name.

That doesn't work when the selection box pops up. At that point, only the first so many characters in the name show, and sometimes they are all identical. I'd have to rename all of them, which blows my filing system.

This is what I see when I hover over it. Is that what you're talking about? Or do you mean once you're already browsing for the missing file?

Once I'm already browsing for the file. The Camtasia window is frozen while that list is open. I clicked your link but got the message "File Unsupported." Here's an image of what I run into.

One other way to make this easier would be for the menu selection to reattach media would be to highlight, or display ONLY the matching file in this list so that there's no mistake which file is the right one. If the system can tell you that the file chosen is not a match, it seems possible to find the one that IS a match.

Hi and thanks for submitting your idea!

As outlined in our New Community Processes post, feature requests are open to voting up through the 1st of the month (this month is slightly different, due to the holidays) where we will then tally the votes and present the findings to our product teams. To ensure we have the most accurate data, on the 1st of the month we will be locking the threads that were listed in the Feature Request Round-up that was posted on the 15th. Once we have reviewed the submitted feature requests, our product team(s) may respond to the request, and if that is the case then that thread will then be unlocked for further discussion.

In the event that your idea is not selected for a response feel free to resubmit the idea and share it with your colleagues to garner as much exposure as possible!

Thank you again for your idea and we look forward to hearing more from you!

-Robert
