I love your program on the Mac. However, I use PowerPoint to record lectures for posting online. While I'm recording, sometimes I catch an error that I've made that I know I'll want to edit out later. Is there any way to put some type of mark at that location within the .cmproj file so I can find that spot again later while I'm editing the file prior to export? I do not always have the time luxury of listening to the entire lecture again during editing.

Hello,

The most popular way people do this is pretty low-tech. Snap near the mic, or clap, or smack the table. This will create a huge spike in the audio track so as you scan the audio track each time you see one of those spikes you will know you have to delete the section before that.

I hope this technique helps. I like this idea too; maybe there's a good idea for a feature or something in the product that could help too.

Sincerely,
Mike Curtis

On the Camtasia Studio 8 for the PC this is very possible to add a Marker while live recording. All you need to do is hold down the CTRL+M (Control key + M on your keyboard) and it will put a Marker on that spot in the video you are recording.

When in editing you can view the Markers by going to View>Show Marker View or use the hotkey of Ctrl + M. This will bring up your Marker View on the timeline in your video.

If you are looking to add a Marker while editing your video on the timeline and watching after you have recorded then just click the M key on your keyboard and it will add a Marker at that spot for you.

There are other options you also have and can find in the Camtasia Studio Help File and if you put Markers in the search box in the Help File you will find more out about how to use Markers. I hope this helps and thanks for posting. Have agreat day.

P.S. I am not sure how to do this on the Mac Version as I do not own a Mac yet.
