Mask feature for PC

I want 2 text to appear at the same time from the middle. One from the right to left and one from left to right.  left to right :

I did this by simply hiding the text to the left behind a rectangle the same colour of the background. But I can not do the 2nd one as the text would be hidden by the top rectangle :

Is there a way to do this that I did not think about ? I could render one side and crop it in but, this is usually done with masks. I know Mac version have masks. Now that Camtasia is cross-plateform will you implement masks for PC ?

Also, it looks like the mask effect in the Mac version do not allow to animate an object to go through a "revealing" mask. You can animate the mask but if you animate the object the mask follow the object. So that type of mask would not allow me to do the animation described above.

instead of hiding the callouts behind the shapes, try using a crop on the amimation on the text callouts along with the L/R motion animations

I tried the crop method before and did not get good results. I was getting getting text reveal instead of text moving out of something. But I gave it another shot and it works fine. Thx !

also,  this work with linear anim only. Exponatial will give Strange results. That is why a mask would be better.

Hi there,

Thank you for the feedback and ideas here! We're looking at improving masking in the future, especially when it comes to text and animation so hopefully we can solve this for you all!
