Camtasia 9 on Win 7: I separated video and audio of a clip in the timeline and deleted video. How do I bring back the video ? Is it possible to match the audio frames and place In and Out points on the media without putting the entire clip on a track?

Not sure if this is applicable to your situation here but in the past when I've run into problems like that (removing a portion of video after separating audio from video on the timeline) there are a couple of workarounds:
1. Where there is a video gap manually extend either the right or left side to close the gap. Of course this likely defeats your original purpose of deleting said video snippet. If you can find a piece of the video that precedes the gap, use the 'extend frame' option. So for example if you had a 5 second gap in video try to locate a video frame a few seconds before the gap that is applicable and extend it by 5 seconds to fill the video gap.
2. The other option I use quite frequently is to find a suitable video frame elsewhere within the video (typically a second or two before the video gap occurs) - take a screenshot of it at 100%, save that screenshot as a jpg, import it into the media folder and place it over the video gap to fill it. If you are careful, this can be done without any discernible notice in the final production. (As in the previous workaround assuming a 5 second video gap would be replaced with a 5 second overlay of a jpeg screen grab) A crude demo below for what I mean.

Thank you, Eric. Both your solutions are good for my future use, but neither works for this specific problem. Client wanted talking head video back, not still! I decided in future I would keep talking head media (with markers) on a turned-off track on the timeline!
