Menu shortcuts text changes to unexpected symbol following by Camtasia 2019 crash

I was using Camtasia 2019 normally when I noticed unexpected behavior on the software, lagging, the timeline zoom in / zoom out was taking longer to load.

it appeared that the app was about to crash, I realized the Menu shortcuts text had changed to unexpected symbol and a few seconds later the app suddenly quit.

here's a screenshot of how the menu shows with this bug.

is there anything that could be done in order to avoid this?

I've been using Camtasia for over 5 years now, I hope  that by reporting these issues Techsmith can improve the stability of the system for its users.

thanks in advance.

here's another screenshot of the error, while trimming the video the audio waves disappeared and the menu showed ????? symbols instead of the proper shortcuts.

I'm considering downgrading to Camtasia 2018 since the problems has appeared several times making impossible to edit a  video 5 minutes straight not quitting the software.

I would open a ticket with tech support and let them look at 2019.

You can install 2018 and use it for now.You don't have to uninstall 2019 to run 2018.
Just download 2018 and activate it with your 2019 key.

You can download and install a new or an older version from this link.

The scrambled menu shortcuts is very weird.  One thing you could try that should fix that is to restore the the shortcuts to their defaults.

Open up the preferences and select the Shortcuts tab to get to the 'Restore Defaults' button.

For the other issues, the best way to get help, and to help us track down the problems, is to open up a ticket with support.
