well duh me! lol. I posted a blank message(sorry, I'll try to delete) Anyways... this is probably a tech support question, but this area is so cool, and everybody is so helpful here.. So, I've been going back and forth all night between browser windows and Snagit. I clicked on "file" to open an image on my computer and this menu got stuck in the open position, and I tried everything I knew (short of closing out the program, because I wasn't ready to do so). I tried hovering over the menu and pressing Esc key to no avail.. but it wouldn't go away a screenshot's attached Any ideas?

oh, and duh me again.. I guess I can't delete my original "empty" post now because I've replied to it already. Also - want to say that so far, this is the ONLY problem I've encountered so far and that you guys really helped during my trial, I posted asking about "stamps" Well, I enjoyed the program so much during my trial, and the comfy feeling here too... that I bought the program AND some Business stamps, Keep up the great work. I tell everybody how much I love it and hope that gets you another happy customer!

Hi Mary, Good to see your activity!. Are you now back into web design? Brian, we were in touch earlier. TS say they like the idea I floated, but it does not fit in with their vision. Your unbiased support could be very helpful, as I think we bnoth know about the importance of time saving benefits.

Brian, I'm not exactly sure that this is what Robert meant when he advised you to try and recruit others to support your idea. ;)

This reply comes off as a bit "spammy" as it doesn't seem to further this particular discussion and the intent seems to be just to gather support for an unrelated issue.

Cheers... Rick :)

Well, I think there is a relationship of sorts as they both IMHO lead to improvements in Snagit. But I do take your point, thank you for pointing out the "spammy" nature of my comment to Mary.

LOL, I think I hang out in too many forums. ;)

Over in Adobe land I hang out in a few and I'm a moderator of a couple. And it's a very common tactic one notices when spam attacks occur. You immediately begin seeing "zombie" replies. What I mean by that is to say that the spammers will begin resurrecting post after post with information that *MIGHT* be relevant, but suddenly there are links galore that point to this or that.

So I was likely a bit on the critical side there and that segment of my neurons were likely firing. Apologies if it offended. Didn't mean to. ;)

Cheers... Rick :)

No offence at all. Appreciate our engagement. We don't have to think the same things, my neurons aren't always under control, but then great age is my alibi!
Best, Brian

OH CRUD... sorry, I had to open my mouth (in post above), and Jinx myself... Now I do have a real issue. I can't open the program now.. i click on the Windows Start button, then type in "Snagit" to bring up the shortcut icon I always use and get the message shown in the uploaded screenshot... any clues? and thanks :)

Hi Mary!

First, thanks for being a part of the Snagit family, we're lucky to have you!

This particular error can appear on rare occasion, but when it does it is certainly frustrating and it generally appears when an update has taken place. You will need to simply recreate the shortcut (there are a number of ways to do this on Windows 10, simply right-click on the Snagit32.exe located in the Snagit installation folder). Once you've replaced the shortcut you should be back in working order.

Hope this helps!

-Robert

This has happened to me several times and I also just reinstalled the application and it is back to normal. It is mildly annoying but only takes a minute to accomplish.
Since I keep program exe's in a quickly available folder, it is almost as quick as creating a new shortcut.
