Yes, MenuMaker is still available and comes with Camtasia Studio 8.
However, while the older version worked well with AVI videos, this version does not. It would be best to use the MP4 or WMV format.
All the rest of MenuMaker is still the same as before.
You can access MenuMaker from within Camtasia Studio by choosing Tools menu > Studio tools > MenuMaker.
I hope this helps!

Have you created a new menu and added the video(s) there?
If you click the Test button in MenuMaker to test your videos, do they work?

So, you have added the chapters... but did you add the videos using the Content tab?
It sounds like you may have set up the outline / chapter names... but not actually "attached" the content files to the chapter titles?
Sorry... since I can't see what's happening or what process you are using, I'm just trying to make a good guess.
Have you searched the help file for instructions on creating a new menu?
Did you go through the Wizard setup?

With network security in place, you may get that error if you are loading files from a location other than C:\

I have made a video to show you what is occurring when I create a menu:

Maybe you can make a recording of your process so I can see what is happening??
Thanks,

I'm only using Screencast.com to show you the video I made of the process.
It has nothing to do with files in MenuMaker.
So.. you are doing the same thing as me.. but, you are getting an error.
Can you confirm that your video will actually play? Double-click the MP4 file you want to include in the video and see if it plays in a browser like FireFox.
Can you add image files to the menu? If you haven't tried, perhaps do that and run the test menu to see if you can view the images.

Maybe tell me the video file formats you want to add to the menu.

I have added video content like always do in menumaker.
When I run the test menu, links work and videos open.
When I create the menu, The menu creates fine but when you click on links, FIrefox says it can't find the content.
Thanks.

The MP4 videos are created in Camtasia Studio 8 using the 'MP4 only Up to 480' option, both with and without video player.
I have also tried using the 'Custom Prodution Settings' option with 'Embed video into HTML' checked (by default) with the same result.
NB: .wmv videos play fine but that's not what I need!

The doco seems a bit confuzzling with mentions of MP4 here and there amongst what I've read including various forum responses to other questions.
I've noticed other threads about Camtasia Theatre. It looks like it might have had the functionality I require. WIll go back to them and have a look to see what I may have missed out on.

... take the supporting files that were generated with the MP4 file (the controller files, scripts/skins folder, and the js/swf files) and move them into that Misc folder (buried in the Media folder generated by MenuMaker).

We create our software's "info" package using Techsmith's Menumaker. The end product looks great, and contains various sub-menu levels, etc. Unfortunately, EVERY TIME I "recompile" I have to MANUALLY remember to "COPY" numerous files in various MISC folders... This bug has been in there for YEARS, and if you could just fix this one bug, it will make your menumaker a much more useful and less stressful-to-use product.
Thank you,

I'm sorry, but, we are currently not doing any development work on MenuMaker. This includes bug fixing.
I would anticipate we will not be doing any bug fixing or further development on this program in the future.
I am sorry you are having this trouble. But for now, the offered work around is all there is.

I would like to learn about using hot spots to navigate to a collection. I am trying to find out more about how to do that.

The menu did work with my other problem with Internet Explorer, that is what I did like about the menu - it didn't have the security issues that upset the Internet Explorer. I most likely will have the same problem with the hotspots, but I'd like to give it a try.

the hotspots in my example are configured as jump-to-URL type, where the URLs point to the various videos
there may be a better tutorial about hotspots in this collection [?] ...
