So when I try to record videos with Camtaisa, it wont seem to install my mic. I use a Blue snowball Ice and i have not been having problems with my mic anywhere else but Camtaisa. Could someone help me?

I have never had any problems connecting any USB mic to apps on the mac. Have you played with the selections in System Preferences>>Sound? I use a Blue Yeti among other mics.

I have Dave, and still no fix. I'm starting to think its something with my mic but I'm not entirely sure.

Hey Fred thanks for responding. I have tried other mics and they work, but none of them are as good as my snowball. And no it has not been fixed so far.

I just got a Blue ICE Snowball over the weekend and did make a Snagit 12.0 Video recording with it. I would like to be able to get a little more volume out of it , but it did work. If someone comes up with a way to increase the volume, I would like to know how they do it. I did connect the Blue Ice Driver on my Mac Book Pro. I actually run Snagit on Windows 8 over Parallel.

I was going to post on this topic anyway, on the volume level using a
Blue Snowball with Camtasia Studio 8. I tried the mic with Audacity and
the levels seem better, but its sooooo quiet on Studio 8 voiceovers,
even with everything up to the maximum> Its a shame as the sound is
really nice from these mics.

Not that it will make you feel any better, but I have the same problem and see the same screen with my snowball.

Actually I have been using the SnowBall all the time with Snagit 12 and Camtasia 8 since shortly after I posted my original comment. I use Windows via Parallels on my Mac, so the trick was getting SnowBall setup as the audio connection on my Mac and then making sure the setup carried forward through Parallels. You do that in the identical way. After you plug SnowBall into your MAC, Go to setup, Audio, and Input. Select Blue SnowBall as your device for sound input. If you use Parallels, just make sure the same setting is set the same way.
