Missing Audio

I am now using version 8.4.4.  I opened a project I had done with version 3 and I can see the video and the edits I made for it.  But I cannot hear it within the program.  I can double click on the project and it works just fine in my computer.  What do I need to do in order to get the audio portion into version 8?

Margaret,

Try to export & save your old audio as a .WAV file.
If this works for you, then import the .WAV audio file back into Camtasia.
That should do the trick for you.

I am not sure how to do that.  If I go to the folder that maintains my files, I can click on the Firefox HTML Document and the video opens in my computer.  I can hear it and see it.  But within Camtasia 8, all I can open is the file with the extension of camproj.  Should I be using something different.  Even though I have used Camtasia since version 3, I am not adept at using it.  My knowledge about it is very limited.

I thought I sent a reply but I am not seeing it so I will try again.  The camproj file that is open in Camtasia, ver 8 does not have an audio track.  Any way I can get it back?

You could use the  Camtasia 8 recorder and just record the video as it plays on your computer. That would solve your problem.

That worked perfectly.  Thank you!  I still don't know what happened to the original audio track, but at least I can finally upload the video again.  I appreciate your help.
