Motion Tracking

Hi Everyone. Thanks for your help in advance. I'm using Camtasia Studio V8.5.2

So in a nutshell, here are my questions:
1. Can I export a file that features just the cursor? Blacking out my recorded screen footage and leaving just the cursor movements.
2. if not, can I customize the cursor to be a motion tracking point ( a custom cursor) and still be able to edit the cursor effects (namely viability) in Camtasia Studio?

If you want to know why I'm doing this, here is the explication:

I am about to make a fake 'whiteboard animation'. an animation where a hand enters the screen and draws an image. Oddly enough, the best way to do this is to fake it and do it digitally. Where I use screen capture software to record me drawing it in photoshop. Then use the cursor position to add a hand in post production. I would like to use Camtasia to do the following:

Replace the cursor with a tracking point that my cpu can find using motion tracking. (This isn't 100% necessary but would help) .

Then export 2 versions of my recording. version 1 would be my screen recording without the cursor. This seems really straight forward. The hard part is that I want to export another version with just the cursor and none of the screen recordings. That was I can use the cursor over a black or single coloured screen as a motion tracker later. I've seen this done using other software like ScreenFlow.

I've tried to add the custom cursor but when I do it I have to change the recording type from .trec to .avi which automatically burns the cursor into the file. It seems like I can't have a custom cursor that I can also edit, even thoug htere appears to be a checkbox to achieve just this.

Thanks again!

Hi George,

If understand correctly from your question your looking for an hand drawing option with motion tracking.
I found this software to be excellent for those kind of projects.
What am I doing is exporting the videos from the software and importing it to Camtasia.
Here is the software that I'm using to create those kind of videos you mentions
You have different style of hands - very simple to use.

Let me know if you have any questions
