How can i move a clip on Video1? i can delete parts of it, split it, but NOT MOVE IT! no combination of click&drag + modifier keys allows this. i need to have a blank 9sec spot at the beginning, for example.

Hello,
I'm sorry you are having trouble.

The Camtasia Studio timeline does not allow you to have gaps on the video track.

As a workaround for this, you can add a black image or titleclip to the timeline to fill that area. I know this is just a workaround and doesn't solve your real problem which is needing more control over where you place your video.

Product Management and development is aware of this limitation and a need for a better workflow.

Thank you for using Camtasia Studio!

Here's a tutorial that shows you how to add a blank title clip at the beginning and/or end of your video. You can then add a transition between the clips to make it fade in.

Hope this helps.

What I had to do for this was delete the clip and then place it again anew where I wanted it.
