Moving Sequence to Library - Missing Markers?

I'm trying to combine several sequences into one sequence. I'm trying to do this by adding the sequences to my library, and then combining them into one master sequence. The problem is that all of my markers seem to be missing when I consolidate a sequence into a library file. That seems to be a major oversight of the software, and I'm wondering how to fix this problem. Markers are an INTEGRAL part of sequences - my sequences have hundreds of buttons that jump to markers.

your markers must be media markers, not timeline markers; then, they will go into Library OK

Hi mldalto,

Sorry that timeline markers aren't saved in the Library - if you change them to a 'media marker' you can then save them in the library.

To do it, add some callout to the entirety of the timeline to hold the markers (make it with 0% opacity) then open the markers tray and click on the media tray to switch your markers from the timeline to a media.

Then when you add those media to the library, they will keep the markers on them.

Aaron

I find it best practice to use Media markers rather than timeline markers.  Then if you insert, remove or move a section, all the markers stay in their correct places  I usually set them on a background branding image or on my narration.

This is good information.  I will do this.  Although, upon testing, it seems that when I change a timeline marker into a media marker, that the links change from "Go to Marker X" into "Go to timecode XX:XX:XX", which means I probably need to re-map all my buttons to the new media markers.  Not the end of the world, but it will take me some time.
