Multiple caption tracks (e.g. for different languages)

It would be great if we could create multiple caption tracks, such as for closed captioning in different languages, and then be able to produce a separate video for each language, or even better, for your player to support different closed captioning languages, such as a context menu appearing when CC is clicked, to select which of the video's supported CC languages (if there are more than one) to view.

best workaround ...

you can have different caption tracks for different languages, with each language on its own track; disable those caption tracks not immediately needed when you produce

Hello,

Our TechSmith Smart Player is capable of supporting multiple caption tracks with a single production.  We have published a couple support articles on how to manually update the caption data to get this to work.

Windows: https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005111032
Mac: https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005168731

We always welcome your feedback around this feature and hope to improve this process in the future.

Dealing with the same issue and am just wondering: do I manually have to key in the full caption text in another language, or is it just the start including language code as reference?

Hi Jørgen, you will have to supply all the translated text for each caption language you add to the xml.  Does that answer your question?
