Multiple clips not working together.

Hi,

I am using Camtasia to put together sports instructional videos (approx 3 min long each).

I have filmed somebody talking and cut and edited sections that were mistakes which is fine, but when I add another clip to the timeline and try to place it over the talking(person doing the action), or even add a photo over - both the clips seize up.

You can hear the talking but the image gets distorted and doesn't work.

What could be the possible cause?

I have done this in the past, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Thanks

Nick

If you try to produce the video does it work? Have you tried to disable GPU acceleration?
What type of footage are you using ( MP4, Mov, ? )

 Hi Joe,

Thanks for the reply.

I am filming with a Panasonic v750, I am then using the program handbrake to turn the files to an MP4, as camtasia won't recognise the files straight from the camera.

I just tried disabling the GPU acceleration, but lines appeared across the person when they were in action.  (iI switched it back on and that fixed that problem).

Also the problem of the footage going distorted when something is layered over the top even has happened when I put a jpeg image on a higher track.

Sometimes if I layer 2 pieces of footage over each other and it distorts, I remove the top one but then the original is still distorted.

I have updated the software as well, so I'm not sure if camtasia is glitching or just not the program I should be using. I have made similar videos in the past with no problems though.
