MXF files imported to Camtasia?

I have just bought a new Canon XC15 video camera, which creates MXF video files. Unfortunately Camtasia doesn't support these.  I want to produce as high a quality video as possible, so do I: a) convert my MXF files to a format that Camtasia can import and if so, which converter do you recommend and which file formal should I convert to? OR b) buy another video editor such as FCP or Premier Pro, which already deal with MXF files?

Hi there

If you are intent on using Camtasia, you will need to transcode the MXF file to something Camtasia understands. Perhaps MP4 or AVI. I did a quick Google and found this converterL

I have no clue as to how well it works. I just googled for how to convert MXF files. Looks like they offer a free evaluation you could try.

Cheers... Rick :)

Thanks Rick for your input. I like Camtasia, so I'll firstly try the option of converting the files and using Camtasia. If that doesn't work so well, I'll consider the other softwares. Regards, Ian
