What version of SnagIt are you using?

What capture function isn't working? All of them?Video Capture?

Snagit 2018. All of them are not working. I have not used the snagit video function, just capturing pictures and text for pasting into e-mail, etc.

I recommend running a repair install. It's essentially the same as a reinstall  without resetting all of your preferences.
It's my favorite repair move.
It retains all your custom profiles etc.
If you have SnagIt set to not start with Windows. It might change that. Some other minor settings. For the most part, it's far less intrusive than a reinstall and twice as fast.
It's a bit like the silver bullet of program repair.

You run it from the control panel.Select the control panel and..............

Let us know if that works will you.

I got a set blocked statement saying Snagit is running already although it is not open. I clicked "Close Snagit" but no luck, still getting blocked statement.

Open task manager and you'll should be able to find SnagIt running in there.

Select it and choose End Task.

This might be the problem?Maybe a restart of SnagIt after killing it will be all that's required.I would try that as well. Before the repair install. Although, a repair install can't hurt you.It might the ticket to keep it from happening again.

I did that now. Closed it. Tried the previous actions again and nope, same blocked message. I feel it is a hopeless loop.

A Reinstall should do it.

If not, theres a folder you might need to delete from the registry.SnagIt can replace it as soon as you restart the program.Let me know it the reinstall works.

Thank you for your help. The reinstall did not solve the problem so I think I will just remove Snagit from my conputer and call it a lesson learned. I was excited when it worked and I used it a lot but now that it is just frustrating me I will remove it and try something else. Thanks for your attempt to help.
