My first YouTube video.

Hi!

I am a newbie using Camtasia Studio 8.6.0 and MS Power Point 2010 running under Windows 7 Pro (64 bit).

For a YouTube trailer, I created a short PPT presentation (7 slides). I haven't added voice or music yet. I need to add voice to slides 1, 2, and 7. And, I need to add music to slides 3 to 6.

Should I finish the presentation with Power Point and use the Camtasia Studio Add-In? Or, should I use Camtasia Studio itself to add the slides, voice, and music to create a video?

Hello - You may get advice in the form of several different approaches.

Mine would be to record the audio narration separately, so it is more natural in timing and cadence. Save it as an audio track and add it to your clip bin. Next, Import your PPT slides to the timeline and stretch them to match the audio track. Another benefit to this is that if you want to edit the audio or re-record it, it'll be easier because it is independent of the visuals (slides).

Thank you for your prompt reply. I agree!

This is what I have done so far:

1 - Using the default resolution of 96 PPI, I converted the slides (set at 16:9) to JPG files. Based on how the video looks, I may later on change the resolution to 300 PPI.

2 - Imported the images to the Clip Bin.

This is what I will do next:

1 - Using Audacity 2.1.2, I will record the sound for each slide as separate WAV or MP3 files (not sure which).

2 - Import the audio to the Clip Bin.

3 - Create the video.
