My video is missing

I spent hours editing a video on Camtasia, I saved the video in both its .tscproj form and .mp4 form. The .mpf video form is missing and the .tscproj says my computer says it can't find the file.

did you delete the source file?  if so, look in your recycle bin; if it's there, restore that file

Normally the project is listed in your Recent projects at the top if it's the last project you were editing.

Apologies if you were already aware of this.

Cheers... Rick :)

Another thing to note is that I'm guessing it's just a typo, but you do mention you are looking for a ".mpf" file. So if you are actually looking for that file type, that may explain why you aren't finding the video. But as I said, I'm guessing you just made a typo when first posting. Because you did refer to .mp4 earlier in the post.

Cheers... Rick :)

I ALWAYS save my work as a zip, even before I save as a regular camtasia project file.  This newer version (9) doesn't find the misplaced files as easily as the old version.  Used to one could point to one of the missing files and Camtasia would find the others in that folder.  Last time I had this challenge it required me to point to every file.  Zip Zip Zip

Kay, are you using 9.1.2.?

as I recall, 9.1.2. fixed the issue you are describing; but I also recall that it only works if all the misplaced files are in the same directory

I could be wrong here, as it's been a long time since it's happened to me

Yes, I'm at version 9.1.2 build 3011.  I was loading files from last year on 8 and had the problem.  You're right.  The files need to be in the same folder.  Makes sense that "it" would look there for the others.
