I had the same issue happen to me and am wondering how to open the video when Snagit says it's corrupt. I see there's data. So is it that Snagit using a propriety file format that has to be converted to .mp4 to play. If so, how can it be converted?

I had this same problem occur today. At the end of an hour long recording, when processing the video (after 15 mins), my machine blue screened and rebooted. Since I was not able to save the recording via the editor, how can I retrieve the temporary file? What/Where do I begin looking for this?

Hi @Phil, I found the temp folder in the TechSmith > Snagit folder with the date on it. I'm on a Mac, so not sure where yours is stored. I will say, the only way I got that recovered is through a third party recovery service, restore.media

I'm wondering now if the crash is due in part to the fact that I don't have enough hard disk space to process the video. I had another video recording software Capto also fail on me when I tried to record a long video and, at the time, I only had a GB of space left on my hard drive.
