I am a long-time CAD professional and general geek and over the years it seems that I've used just about every graphic application out there. However, for some reason, it wasn't until last week that I downloaded a copy of the Camtasia trial to see if it would suit my video capture wants. Was I ever glad!

The Camtasia software makes the capture, editing, and production of screen capture videos ridiculously easy. While other apps mire you down in settings and selection for webcam, microphone and screen capture area, Camtasia has one little panel that makes it all accessible. Capture is one click away.

I've worked with various video editors like Premiere, After Effects, and SpeedRazor so I have a handle on editing. While much simpler, I found the Camtasia video editor to be intuitive, well featured and very capable. It was definitely up to the tasks I had.

Lastly, no video is worth anything if it can't be produced. Some applications really make this difficult with over complicating the matter and very often new users are overwhelmed. On the other hand some applications take too many choices away and experienced users feel cheated. Camtasia has managed a perfect blend of options and ease of use.

Camtasia Studio really is a great tool for any beginner or veteran looking to get an program that is made for, and can handle screen capture without killing the user or the wallet.
