Narration Issues

I only have my project saved in Camtasia, so can't or don't know how to post it. I am attempting to do a voice over narration. I recorded my video, have edited it, and now trying to do narration. When I am done and have saved it, my narration has many issues. Please excuse me for not using proper lingo, but it keeps skipping, or repeating, (sounding like I stutter), this of course then puts video ahead of the narration. I have tried 3 different times, and am totally frustrated. Do I need to start all over again with editing etc? What is causing this, how can I fix it. I have done a few voice overs, and have never encountered this issue.

have you tried producing?

sometimes the editor skips when viewing in the canvas, especially if a project is heavily edited; but a production comes out OK

try making a custom MP4 with player production; does that work [audio OK]?

another thing to try is to just export all audio [on share menu]; silence all audio in the project, then use the exported all audio WAV on timeline; any better?

I have seen similar things before and after producing.  If it is run on a different machine, it seems fine.  I can usually tell, because the stutter/skip is in different places each time I run through it.  I generally do several run throughs to check that everything is correct before publishing.

You might also consider recording your narrative in a different tool, exporting it as an MP3, and then importing that mp3 (variable bit rate) into your camtasia project file. Audacity is a free, open source, audio recording and editing tool.
