I have owned Snagit for years. Is there any way to turn off this annoying ad?

That’s a problem with your browser and tracking cookies, etc. not snagit.

I  use Youtube a lot and have never experienced that. Clear out the cookies and if that doesn't fix it contact support. You can get a couple of utilities to do that easily such as WIsecare and CCleaner (get the free editions) I run a cleanup every evening. You can exclude sites from cleanup (such as this FOrum's login cookie)
You can Submit a ticket

       https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Or call, >>>

 Toll Free: 800.517.3001 (U.S. & Canada Only)

8:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST Monday through Friday

Chat Support Hours.

You can reach the “CHAT” Support Team for assistance from

 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday

Saturday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET.

Hey other Rick, I'm a bit confused about how TechSmith support will be able to fix an issue with YouTube? Or even why they would be expected to.

Seems this would fall squarely in the lap of YouTube or some kind of generic Browser support. No?

Happy Wednesday all. ;)

IF clearing cookies doesn't fix it and the ads are ALWAYS snagit ... then something else may be going on. There has been some annoying trouble with internal advertising even on registered versions. And .. you are not getting this nor am I so ...
IT is probably a cookie issue and cleaning them will resolve it. Jason probably gave the correct answer
In the event that it is still going on after a cleanup and reboot, contacting support to see what else may be going on would be a good next step ONLY because the ads are always for Snagit.
