Need on-screen indication that shows when a full screen recording is paused.

I make full-screen tutorials. I do it on the fly and often use hot keys to pause the video while I think of my next line(s) or next action. It's easier to do it these way than to try to read a script while also demonstrating what I need to demonstrate. The problem is, there's no on-screen visual sign to indicate when a recording is in paused mode. One of my "pauses" must not have worked, so I ended up recording when I thought it was paused, and being paused when I thought I was recording. I wasted a lot of time and ended up with a useless recording. A red circle with "Paused" inside it that pops up on the screen when the recording is paused would be a great help. If it wasn't there, we'd know we're still recording. If it's there, we know it's safe to go let the dog out (or whatever). Thank you for considering this suggestion.

try this

in Recorder's tools/options/program tab ...

in minimize area, set to minimize recorder if recorder will be recorded
minimize to system tray

uncheck record screen after starting capture

now, 1st F9 will start recorder paused; F9 again will unpause and start capture; F9 will pause again; F10 will stop and save

when doing a full screen capture, starting a capture [not paused] will hide the Recorder UI; F9 to pause the capture will redisplay the Recorder UI showing it is paused

Hey, thanks kayakman!. That works. I had it set up like that with the exception of having the program minimize to the task bar. When minimized to the task bar you don't get the control panel when the recording is paused.

I still like the idea of a red circle with "paused" showing up in the middle of the screen, but I can certainly live with this option.

I too just implemented kayakman's solution. It works. But I also would like an onscreen indication of a paused recording. Otherwise after pressing f9 - maybe several times as you think and speak, think and speak - you have no idea looking at the screen whether it is recording or not.
