Need to have full screen option on controller (camtasia 8.6.0)

Good day,

I am new with Camtasia, thank you for understanding that I may not be using the exact technical terms.

On techsmith.com/tutorial-camtasia-8 / Custom Production Settings / it shows that in the Production Wizard there are controllers with FULL SCREEN button on the controller. I have been through all the different controllers and none of them show a full screen button.

How can we have the full screen button button available so when my students take my tutorials and trainings on the LMS they can make it full screen?

I have read previous posts on this, some saying it has to do with Chrome vs EI, I tried this is not the issue since the controller does not show the full screen button in Camtasia itself, before even going to the Internet. Some are saying it has to do with SCORM format, I have tried both 1.2 and 2004, they have the same issue.

This question seems to never have been answered.
Regards

It will show in your produced video. I don't know why it doesn't show in production wizard.
It's the same for me when using Camtasia 8.6.0

If you produce your video with the smart player included you will have a folder with multiple files in it.

Click Example Images to Enlarge

You can check your video (and the controller) in a browser.

You can drag and drop (in this example) the master.html file on to a browser window to check your video with the smart player and see that any interactive content you may have works and check out the controls which should have the fullscreen button.

You can also just drag and drop the .mp4 (master.mp4) video on to a browser window and the browsers native HTML5 player should show the fullscreen button. No interactive content will work
You have to use the Camtasia smart player for interactivity  content to work.

master.html file in Chrome

master.mp4 in Chrome native HTML5 player

It should also be there on a LMS but I can not say for sure as I don't use any

Thanks Dubie for the answer,

the problem is that I use Camtasia for creating tutorials to use on LMS only.

As said in my explanations, in LMS the FULL SCREEN button doesn't show.

Someone else has an idea?

If you can see the fullscreen button in the ways I show above than that should be an indication that Camtasia is outputting the fullscreen option or the browser html5 player functions with your files/videos.

I personally would than investigate the the requirements, limitations,  functions and/or permissions of your LMS

I can see the button full screen when using the example you are talking about. For the limitations on LMS, I already investigated it, it is NOTfrom their side the issue.

For the button not showing, it is a problem when using SCORM... it is the only place where from CAMTASIA that the button does not show anymore.

Hope I am explaining this correctly.

Let me try again...

When I Produce and share the video, with the option custom production settings, in order to setup the reporting options, I do not see the full screen button in the production wizard, NOR do I get the Full screen button in the video that is produced from those settings, from my zip file (SCORM) the button is not present in the Cantasia video file, before I even get to the LMS.

Hope someone understand what I am saying here. I am new to Camtasia and I appologize for not using the proper technical terms

@ Nathalie,

I get what you are saying. Issues like these usually boil down to a process of elimination which is the path I was going down.

Probably the best and quickest way to try to resolve this would be to contact support.

I'm looking for a solution here too. Why can't the developers post the answer here rather than us having to submit a support request?

Hi all

What would be (or possibly would have been, as the thread was from six months ago) is if Nathalie would have posted a response to this thread after having contacted support.

Until we maybe see something from that, it's anyone's guess as to what happened.

My own guess on it is that it has to do with the Smart Player. Specifically, how the SmartPlayer is reacting (being smart and all) with the LMS environment.

Hopefully Nathalie will see this and will respond.

Cheers... Rick :)
