how do you add another video track in CS7, is the only way to use the pip track? if we only have 1 video track how hard would it be to give us a few more (at least 4) in the an update to cs7?

Camtasia Studio 8 was just released and we've implemented the ability to use multiple tracks on the timeline now. The tracks are no longer specific to media type as well, this allows you a lot more freedom to create the types of videos that you want to create and aren't bogged down by unnecessary rules.

You essentially have unlimited video tracks and audio tracks to work with (or at least as many as your computer can handle - a lot).

We've also done work that will allow you to animate callouts and any other type of media for that matter. Here is a video of me animating a callout over top of a video:

And you can now position video clips wherever you choose in the Canvas like one commenter requested:
