New Animation Motion Path

It would be nice to be able to give a motion path to objects similar to how you can in Adobe After Effects. The flexibility to give objects a path to travel on would work wonders for Camtasia to be a great advertising tool. For example being able to make objects rotate along a circle path, wavy path straight line path, zig zag and so on.

I think it is time for some innovation from Camtasia because of right now I haven't really seen any new amazing features to make program stand out. Of course memory issue has to be addressed before adding these features i.e. 64bit version.

+1 for that idea. I'd say it the path should include Bézier curve functionality as well.

What if you want to carry it around 3 slides. The middle slide will need both exact start and end points.

Thanks , :)

this idea/request comes up from time to time; the idea has merit

it is possible to do complex motion path animations in the existing Camtasia Studio

I use 8.6.0, and rely on the following techniques quite a lot; goes pretty fast with a little practice ...

I took a look at the animation and hopefully you don't see this as rude but I don't think it represents everything that Camtasia users are looking for in terms of animation path. The footage from what I saw only shows a linear path that goes in zig zag manner and doesn't cover everything we would like. I will try to explain things a bit further below.

Motion path would mean we would have full control over path of animation. For example if we wanted to make an object travel around a circle path it could do that as well. It is not currently possible to travel along a circle path. If we wanted a more complex path that is non-symmetrical for example lets say we wanted an object to move along a curved bath that goes up and down like a wavelength that would not be possible currently.

Another example would be the ability to change the center point of an object so that the motion of an object can change on a different anchor point.

To summarize currently Camtasia doesn't have the right tools to make more complex animations. Although you can do zig zag pattern that is only touching the surface of creating better animation paths.

Thanks for your demonstration as a starting point but I think Camtasia  needs to innovate  animation path.

I understand what you are saying; I do not disagree; but I have used the techniques to make some fairly complex animation paths, including full circles

perhaps look at this video ...

here, I used a similar template [using the built-in sketch motion circle as the actual template] to make a circular path for the aircraft

again, it's not a perfect solution; but it does allow me to achieve my screencasting goals at times
