New Snagit feature of a floating gadget gets in the way

Trying the new version of Snagit I must say I don't like the way it parks the small whatever-you-call-it at the top center. If I was doing nothing but screen captures at the time it might be useful, but in normal use it is simply in the way. The only way I found to get rid of it so far was to exit Snagit.

Is there a way to disable it so it goes back to the previous behavior of only popping up when I press Prt Sc?

The new One-Click toolbar in 11.2 can be disabled by clicking "Turn Off OneClick" on the left side of the main Snagit window:

Thanks. I knew there had to be a way. I would suggest putting something on the OneClick itself would be easier to do. A simply minimize gadget would be quite intuitive, since we are all used to using those.

Thank you for this post. Been trying to figure out how to remove that thing other than going back to 11.1.

Yes, when I turn off the 'OneClick' the toolbar disappears but then my 'PrintScreen' button no longer activates SnagIt.  I don't want the toolbar at the top center of the screen because it prevents me from reading my Excel file names which are shown in the same space.  Isn't there any way to go back to the old way where I can activate the screen capture with PrintScreen without having to display the toolbar??

I agree with what's been posted here - the floating window always gets in the way (even when I move it). However, I need it on because without it, I can't activate the screen capture with printscrn (unless there's a way I'm not aware of).

It's also not intuitive how to turn it on & off.

Hi Erin - I also don't like the new 'one click' button thingy. I normally define one profile that I want to use over and over. So for me it was best to turn off the big button and just assign the print screen key to the one profile that I use the most. Before you turn it off, go to the preferences of the program (by right clicking on the taskbar icon and selecting preferences) and then select the hotkeys tab and unassign the print screen key as the global capture hotkey. Now you should be free to assign it to your desired profile in the profile manager.

I found that if I tried to assign the print screen key to the profile before un-assigning it from the global capture I got an error message that the key was already in use. Once you setup the hotkey, then you can turn off the 'bug button'. (this is only my opinion of the capture button floating bar)

I also have to say that I absolutely love the program, but 'hate' the dark interface and gray on brown buttons. They give me a headache!

Hope this helps out...

Necroing the post but if anyone still needs this info you just go to the notification icon and right click the snagit icon then in the context menu deselect snagit capture window that will remove that annoying box but still let you use your printscreen button

Hi. I have found that the floating one click button can be moved on the page. I had the same problem of it masking in the middle. So I left-click dragged it over to the side of the screen. This works well for isolated images.  I am not sure how you would handle a full page. Scroll down the image below the floating box, I guess.

You can set SnagIt to "Hide SnagIt Before Capturing".
And the One Click Button won't appear in the capture.

Or Floating Button! Or SnagIt editor.
