No Audio Track

In 2014 I made a short video with Camtasia 2 for Mac. I've not used Camtasia much since so not yet upgraded. However, I wanted to change a few bits (mainly audio) on this old video but there is no audio track displayed - no sound at all. I exported to Quicktime when I made the video and that has the audio so how do I get it back in the Camtasia project for altering? It must be there.

I am not familiar with Camtasia 2, but here is how I would go about doing it in Camtasia 2020. Hopefully, the steps work for you. First, open the project and find a piece of media (like the video). Right-click the media and select "reveal in finder". That essentially opens up the Camtasia file as a folder structure so you can see all the audio and video. There can be lots of folders and sub-folders in a project, so make sure you don't just focus on the one thing Camtasia brought you to. I am sure you will find the audio file that way assuming the "reveal in finder" option works.

Thanks for the reply Bill.

All I could find was a folder called "Temporary Recordings". They do open and appear to be the files making up the videos. However, the ones with a date after April 2014 show as a Camtasia Recording and do have audio whereas the ones up to April show as Camtasia:mac Recording and have no audio. Guess which ones I want

Oh no. Well since you can still produce the file with audio, the content. Must be in there somewhere. I suggest you contact Techsmith support and they can help you extract the audio. The Camtasia file format isn’t that different from a zip file.
