No "Replace with Silence" button makes my day longer.

It was bad enough when the button was removed from the menu bar back in the day, now it is gone forever?!?! I have no idea the thought process behind removing interface functionality. I, like many others I am sure, use Camtasia for technical videos. I need less animations and flash and more interface streamlining.

to silence s section of a clip ...

select the clip on timeline
select the audio option at top of right-side properties frame
use playhead green/red controls to make a selection
use shift-S, or grab the level line on clip and drag it down

once you get used to this workflow, it goes very fast, especially if you make successive silence actions on same clip

That is the same cut and paste answer I got before. Couple problems with that...1)It doesnt automatically put in that fade in/fade out like the button did. 2)How is all of that faster than pressing a single button? Speaking of the "audio option at the top right-side properties frame", why is the volume leveling controls in a completely different section than the volume leveling option?

I understand trying to modernize your interface, but moving stuff around for the sake of moving stuff and eliminating GUI objects just frustrate users.

Please, seriously, tell me if I am in the minority. I don't want to sound like I am extorting you, but with the new release I am starting to look for alternatives. This really does make me sad because I have been a customer for about 10 years. :(

Cool! Even better! So am I just being a baby or are you seeing some frustrating things with 9 too? If it is just me I will just adapt and continue on. :)

there are many things with CS9 that I personally would like to see "improved" upon

but, for the time being, it is what it is

oftentimes a forced change in workflow seems disruptive; but usually, with a little time and practice, the changed behavior can become just as comfortable to work with as the old way
