This one has a different approach.  Rather than start a nonsense thread, this one attempts to hijack a genuine thread.

Not new or different, I've intercepted several of these over a period of time now.

You saw a lot because those of us who usually plow through and delete these were eating turkey all weekend. I think we catch a lot before they get reported and that wasn't happening much the last four days.

And a very "helpful" explanation of what a desktop support technician does, along with a not-at-all suspicious link: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/desktop-support-technician

Hey, I just wanted to thank whoever it is at TechSmith who deletes the posts we identify here. This seems to be working. Keep it up!

OK so why was my post on the above reported thread removed?

Here is what was said
This reply has been removed by TechSmith:
You are obviously using a nulled or cracked version which I'm sure Techsmith is not going to support or even approve of.
Techsmith does not give anyone a list of serial numbers to choose from so it was obvious he was using a cracked or nulled version.

I understood your post 100% and agree with your assessment.

However, at the time of the Spam posting. There was a Spam listing below yours. It was removed the same day I believe.
I think your response got caught in the crossfire by another employee accidentally.

I would copy and paste your response and see if it sticks this time.If it does, I wouldn't give it any more thought.

Regards,Joe

"John Allen" sets up the oh so genuine and utterly off topic "question", which "Woody Allen" then so generously comes along and "answers" with the spam link:

I would rate all three to date posts by the supposed "aronsmith" ( https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/people/aronsmith_76d56qdi06fvo ) in this category.

The first one was in response to what looks very much like a "Dorothy Dixer" question intended as a setup for a spam reply from 3 years ago:
https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/how-to-recover-deleted-video

If you look at the question it's ridiculously vague. The "answers" in that thread seem to do nothing other than promoting third party software. As would "Aron"'s, save for the fact that he forgot to include the links.

But "Emily Baker" ( https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/people/gasscromey88 ) didn't; every post that "she" has made has been about "this Android data recovery tool called MobiKin Doctor".

6 posts, and every one of them recommends the same tool. Yet "she" never has anything to say about Techsmith products. Mmmm, astroturf. Love it.

I would recommend canning that thread, as well as "Emily Baker"'s account.

But returning to "Aron", could there BE a post that is any more "on topic" than this: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/which-is-the-best-computer-networking-cable

Oh, wait, there is. This one:
https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/what-will-emerge-as-the-next-big-social-media-platfo...

I would hope that it's "3 strikes and 'Aron' is out".

Per the suggestions and conversations in this thread, I'm closing this post for new messages. I have made a new post for spam reports here: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/report-spam-posts-here

After about a week, I'll circle back and completely remove this old thread.

-Glenn
